In the foreground is the Swan 45 'DSK' and in the background, 'Bandit'. The photo was shot during Key West Race Week, Key West, FL.
Kevin explained, ' 'DSK' was a top performing Italian boat that was spot on at every event that year. They hit the line at full speed in beautiful waters off of Key West. I like the shot because it shows the raw power of the boat as it blasts off the starting line. The boat is the J-Class yacht 'Shamrock' out for a day sail off Newport, RI.
Kevin explains, 'This shot is fantastic. It was shot with a fish-eye lens. The bow of the photo boat was actually under the yacht's ensign. We were motoring at about 13-15 knots to keep in position under the ensign and on their stern wave.'sailingj ClassnewportKevin Daileyamerican flagyachting ensigndaysailingvintagelife style

The boat is the Farr 40 #69 'Warpath' in waters off Key West, FL, during Key West Race Week.
Kevin describes the scene: 'Warpath was charging downwind in 20 plus knots of wind. Awesome action with the boats behind lined up perfectly. The following year this boat won the North American Championship.'The boat is the J-Class Yacht 'Endeavor', shot at Newport, RI, during the Classic Yacht Regatta.
Kevin told us, 'This shot will always be remembered as the time that a J class yacht had to dip behind a smaller 12m. We were racing the 12m 'Weatherly' and we were on starboard tack, which has the right of way over port tack boats. Even though 'Endeavor' was almost twice our size and going twice as fast, she had to give way. What a thrill!'
